  2. Spring Furniture Amnesty Day

    Spring Furniture Amnesty Day is a drop-off only event. There will be no collection routes. Those wanting to donate furniture should deliver it to the Baker Field parking lot in City Park, 1101 Fremont St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those wanting to select from the donated furniture can do so anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. There will be no assigned time slots.

  4. Tallgrass Tour Bus: Scenic Chase County

    May 7, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Flint Hills Discovery Center

    Join us for a scenic day trip to the heart of the Kansas Flint Hills. The Tallgrass Tour Bus takes you south from Manhattan to the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve where you will be treated to a guided tour of the Bison pastures as well as the Spring Hill Ranch headquarters. Midway along our journey we will dine for lunch at Ad Astra, known regionally for its fine food. Our final stop will include a private tour of the Chase County Courthouse in Cottonwood Falls, where we will explore its unique history and construction. Round trip travel and tour fees are provided. Participants are responsible for lunch fee. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by adult. Tour leaves the Flint Hills Discovery Center at 9 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m.

  5. Bike Month: Pecan Circle Sharrow Installation

    May 7, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

    Pecan Circle can be confusing for people new to Linear Trail. Volunteers will install shared lane markings (sharrows) to make the route clear. Meet at the dead end of Pecan Circle, wear closed-toe shoes and bring your bike to enjoy the trail after the work is over. No experience necessary, but participants must be 18+ and sign a waiver.
