Due to recently increased production times for steel traffic signal poles and mast arms, this project will begin spring of 2019 when the new traffic signal equipment is delivered.
Due to high wind conditions overnight on March 6, 2017 the traffic signal pole and mast arm at the intersection of 11th Street and Poyntz Avenue collapsed. No injuries or damage to private property were reported. A temporary stop light is in place and will remain until the project is completed.
This project involves new traffic signals for all quadrants of the intersection as well as widening 11th street to get protected turn lanes for north and south bound 11th street traffic. This project is being funded through a KDOT safety grant to help reduce crashes.
