Jerred was elected in 2017 and was sworn in January 8, 2018. He is serving his first term as a City Commissioner.
Jerred is a Kansas native originally from Harper, KS. He moved to Manhattan in 2010 to attend Kansas State University and received his B.A. in Political Science in 2014.
Before starting his career, Jerred spent a few months working for an NGO in Madrid, Spain which focused on government transparency issues. During his time there, he learned the importance of easy access to information which motivated him to choose a career in the information field. He is currently employed at CivicPlus where he helps city and county government all over the country achieve greater transparency and efficiency through the use of technology.
He has served on the Social Services Advisory Board for the city of Manhattan for more than four years, and he is currently a member of the Manhattan Rotary Club and the Flint Hills Human Rights group.
