Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The city provides an employee assistance program (EAP) that is available to all employees and their immediate family members. The program is essentially a confidential guidance and treatment referral service for employees with persistent personal problems or problems that affect job performance that do not respond to normal disciplinary measures. The program is designed to deal with a broad range of human relations problems such as alcohol or other drug abuse, emotional and behavior disorders, family or marital discord, financial, legal and/or other personal problems. It is also designed to provide early identification of personal problems, and motivation to take steps to resolve the problems before they become detriments to the employee’s job performance and continued employment with the city.
