[ARCHIVED] Marlatt Rd. & Denison Ave. Roadway Reconstruction

marlatt detour

The Marlatt Rd. & Denison Ave. Roadway Reconstruction Project is scheduled to begin Thursday, March 1, 2018. This project is located on Denison Ave. from the City of Manhattan Fire Station north to the intersection of Marlatt Rd. and on Marlatt Rd. from Denison Ave. east to the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd.

No through traffic will be allowed during construction. Detour routes will be required along Tuttle Creek Boulevard, Kimball Avenue, and College Avenue to avoid the area.

The project will consist of complete removal of the existing roadway. Storm sewers will be installed, Denison will be widened to three lanes, and Marlatt will be widened to four lanes. Linear Trail will be extended with this project with a new 10' trail on the north side of Marlatt connecting to a 10' trail on the west side of Denison running south to Kimball. When the project is finished, the Northview area will have pedestrian and bike access to the K-State campus by using Linear Trail and the underpass at Tuttle Creek Blvd.

60% of the project funding is being provided by Riley County and 40% will come from the City of Manhattan.

The project has been allotted 165 working days and is estimated to be completed in November 2018 pending weather conditions.

If you have questions concerning this project, contact the Riley County Public Works Department, at 6215 Tuttle Creek Blvd., Manhattan, KS or call 537-6330.
