(MANHATTAN, KS – June 11, 2019) The next meeting for the Resilient Wildcat Creek's Citizen Advisory Team (CAT) will be on June 19, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the City Commission Room at City Hall, 1101 Poyntz Avenue.
This meeting will focus on reviewing the goals for the plan, discussing research on the community’s social vulnerabilities, brainstorming “nonstructural” ways to better inform, protect, and respond to the flood risks that residents, business owners, and agriculture producers face on Wildcat Creek. This meeting is open to the public.
The Resilient Wildcat Creek Plan is designed to be an innovative, comprehensive planning process to better understand the flooding problem and develop sound solutions to be better protected from flooding and help residents, business owners, farmers and property owners “bounce forward” when a flood does occur. The team is working to develop a plan to find meaningful solutions to better protect lives and property from the flash floods in the Wildcat Creek Watershed.
