Manhattan Parks & Recreation officially opens the first annual Public Outdoor Art Exhibition on Saturday, September 12 with a self-guided Second Saturday Art Walk. This diverse collection of outdoor art pieces is displayed along the 3rd Street Corridor between the 3rd Street Pocket Park and Blue Earth Plaza. Enjoy a leisurely 0.3-mile stroll in the fresh air along city sidewalks.
Before you go, visit www.mhkprd.com/outdoorart to download the art walk map, or view the exhibition catalog online at https://bit.ly/2YZ2B2E. This is a virtual event, and no registration is needed.
The City of Manhattan was successful in securing a total of $20,000 in grant funding from the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) and the Deihl Community Fund for this project. The grant provides for artist and juror honoraria, installation costs, and publicity materials for the project. All expenses are tracked through a City project fund.
The exhibition runs through April 2021.
