The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) notified the City that traffic control will be switching to Phase 3 on Fort Riley Boulevard (K-18) for the Wildcat Creek Bridge Replacement project starting Monday, April 19th.
While the Phase 3 traffic control is being set up, there will be a short time, approximately one (1) day, where traffic will operate in the outside lanes – westbound will be in the new outside westbound lane and eastbound will remain in the existing eastbound outside lane. When the Phase 3 traffic control is fully in place, all traffic will then operate head to head in the new westbound lanes while the eastbound lanes and bridges are reconstructed. Weather pending, Phase 3 is expected to be in place through November 2021.
Rosencutter Road access at Fort Riley Boulevard (K-18) will remain closed. Detours for south Rosencutter will continue via Seth Child Road and Stagg Hill Road. The separate project on Rosencutter Road to install a new culvert south of Skyvue Lane is nearing completion and full access on Rosencutter in the local area of Skyvue Lane will be available by April 19th. Work on the shoulders of Rosencutter will likely continue for a few weeks thereafter.
Additionally, please note that the Poliska Lane and the commercial entrance opposite of Poliska Lane will be right in, right-out access for the duration of Phase 3 traffic control.
