Description:

The City of Manhattan, Kansas receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to conduct a Housing Rehabilitation Program. The City of Manhattan, Kansas is now requesting bids for the rehabilitation of the property at 2734 Kimball Avenue.

This rehabilitation work includes Foundation stabilization, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting (no Lead Based Paint found), and landscape replacement. Sealed bids for this work will be received until Thursday, 3:00 P.M. September 26, 2019, by the City Clerk at City Hall, 1101 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked:

“2734 Kimball Avenue - Foundation Stabilization Project – Bid Proposal”.

Bid packets may be picked up at the Community Development Department in City Hall, 1101 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas or downloaded from the City website at https://cityofmhk.com/bids. A mandatory contractor walk through is scheduled at 2734 Kimball Avenue, at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2019. All prospective bidders are advised that no bids for this work will be accepted unless the bidder has viewed the property in the company of the Housing Rehabilitation Inspector. If this time will not work for you, contact the Inspector for an alternate time.

All contractors awarded a contract involving Lead-Based Paint activities must have worker and/or supervisor certification.

Contractors bidding on this opportunity may not be barred or excluded from working on federally funded projects. HUD encourages the contractor with the apparent low bid to be registered on the federal System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) prior to award of contract. HUD requires registration for contracts of $25,000.00 or more.

Prior to starting work, the contractor awarded the bid will be required to sign a Rehabilitation Construction Contractor Agreement with the City of Manhattan. A copy of this agreement can be obtained prior to bidding from the Community Development Department at the City of Manhattan.

All persons awarded and/or entering into contracts with the City of Manhattan shall be subject to and required to comply with all applicable City, State, and Federal provisions pertaining to non-discrimination, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action.
