  1. Arts and Humanities Advisory Board Meeting

    January 13, 2021, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM @ The Arts & Humanities Advisory Board meeting will be televised live on local Cox Cable Channel 3 and on the City’s website at http://cityofmhk.com/tv. A recording will be made available on the City’s website after the meeting.

    The purpose of the Arts and Humanities Advisory Board is to promote and support arts and humanities in the City of Manhattan, as follows: To annually review the Capital Improvement Program (“CIP”) to make recommendations to incorporate arts and humanities elements into the CIP projects, as the advisory board deems appropriate. To provide an annual report and plan to the City Commission on arts and humanities opportunities in the City, to include recommended activities, programs, projects, and collaborations. To research and recommend fundraising and grant opportunities. To assist with developing City guidelines related to the selection and placement of public art and other displays, performances, exhibitions and similar arts and humanities activities. To make reports and recommendations to the governing body on all matters referred to it by the governing body.

  2. Douglass Center Advisory Board Meeting

    January 13, 2021, 5:30 PM @ The Douglass Center Advisory Board meeting will be televised live on local Cox Cable Channel 3 and on the City’s website at http://cityofmhk.com/tv. A recording will be made available on the City’s website after the meeting.

    The purpose of the Douglass Center Advisory Board is to make recommendations to the City Commission regarding the operation of the Douglass Community Center. In addition, the board recommends an annual budget for the operation of the Douglass Center, advises the City Commission regarding the scope and content of programs to be initiated at Douglass Center, advises the City Commission regarding staff of the Douglass Center, and submits monthly and annual reports to the City Commission regarding operations of the Douglass Center.

    The Board of Zoning Appeals is a quasi-judicial board, which, through state statute, is granted the authority to consider and approve, or deny, applications requesting relief from the requirements of the Zoning Regulations involving private property within the City of Manhattan. The board's decisions are made following quasi-judicial procedure, to develop findings of fact, based on evidence presented to it during a public hearing.
