The purpose of the Frederick Douglass Recreation Complex Advisory Board is to make reports and recommendations to the governing body on all matters referred to it, and as the Board deems advisable, shall make recommendations related to the operation of the Fredrick Douglass Recreation Complex, including its facility, programs and services.

This Committee has been appointed to offer input on the development of a comprehensive master plan that will provide the Parks and Recreation Department direction for the next 10 years. This Committee will provide a recommendation to City Administration, the consultant, and ultimately the City Commission on the master plan report which will include reporting on the organizational structure and operations, staffing and levels of service, programs and events, capital projects, and park concept designs as well as a facility with indoor water conceptual design.
